I’m pleased to announce that our Annual General Meeting will be on Tuesday 26 September at 4.30pm.
As a profession nearing its first full year of FCA regulation, we’ve got a lot to be proud of. It’s great to see the reassurance regulation is giving customers, with interest in funeral plans on the rise. As Independents, we must embrace this opportunity. Consistent funeral plan sales are key to us protecting and growing our market share.
That’s why it’s particularly important that we use our AGM to come together and build our collective ambition to grow our share of future funerals for the long-term security of our businesses. To make the meeting as accessible as possible in amongst our busy schedules, the AGM will take place virtually as a Microsoft Teams live event.
Register now
In order to join the meeting, please register to attend no later than noon on Monday 25 September at https://www.saifcharter.co.uk/agm2023. If you’re an appointed representative, much of the meeting will also count towards your annual CPD requirement. We’ll share the details of how to join the meeting by email to all registered attendees no later than 12pm on Tuesday 26 September.
AGM updates at saifcharter.co.uk
The meeting agenda and related presentations will be available in the secure members’ area of saifcharter.co.uk in advance of the meeting. Our 2022 AGM recording is also available here. The meeting will include our regular reporting, pre-submitted questions, and the election of Executive members. There are two positions available for election this year with Anthony O’Hara and Arran Brudenell’s terms coming to an end. Candidates’ biographies and the ability to vote will be made available online.
Executive nominations
Any eligible member seeking to put themselves forward for election should contact our Secretary at secretary@saifcharter.co.uk to provide their written nomination. The deadline for intimating an interest is Tuesday 15 August, six weeks in advance of the AGM, which allows time to publicise candidates’ details in advance of the vote.
I hope you will be able to join us on Tuesday 26 September to work together to support the successful, sustainable future of independent funeral businesses.
Best wishes,
Adam K Ginder
